A 16-year-old FIlipino-American boy was shot and killed at his family’s home in Rainier Beach on April 23, Seattle Police said.
The victim was identified by family members and various media as Earl Estrella.
According to Seattle Police, just before 11 p.m., police were dispatched to the 9200 block of Waters Avenue South for reports of a shooting. According to witnesses, the suspect knocked on the door of a residence, and the 16-year-old victim went to answer it. The suspect shot the victim multiple times at the doorway and then fled the area. Responding officers attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet found any leads to the shooter's identity or the motive behind the killing. Phouvieng Soneouthay, Estrella's step-father, does not know why his step-son was targeted, he told KOMO News.
Estrella’s aunt and godmother, Daisy Rivera Ganal, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with the funeral expenses.
