After eight years at the City of Seattle Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, Joaquin Uy has left his role as the ethnic media program coordinator effective July 21.
“I have come to the realization that my time here at the City has run its natural course. I am moving on to new adventures and challenges,” he wrote in an email to his media contacts.
“Reflecting on my time here, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I had to work with such talented individuals like yourself who represent essential community institutions,” he wrote.
“As I embark on this new chapter of my professional journey, I am excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. While I leave with a heavy heart, I am confident that the team I leave behind will continue to thrive and accomplish great things.”
He said he expects the agency’s Ethnic Media Program, and Director Hamdi Mohamed has not yet made a decision about his former position.
